REMINDER: Country Living Fair - and Sobo Style Pre-Fair Event

Hello there!

This will be short and sweet (a big change for me - ha ha) but, I just wanted to send out a little reminder that Sue Whitney of JUNKMARKET Style will be at the Country Living Fair this weekend in Columbus Ohio (and is being sponsored by one of my fav things...Gorilla Glue).  She will be doing two demonstrations a day at the tent, and a main stage presentation on Saturday - it's sure to entertain AND educate - and a perfect opportunity for Sue to share what she loves...JUNK!  Recycling - reusing - repurposing and - a lot of times (one of my favorite things) - redecorating!! :)  And, with junk...it's definitely a "design on a dime" thing!!  I've always been that way, so hoping to get some NEW ideas for some OLD stuff!

And, as I mentioned in my post "A JUNKMARKET Style event in O-H-I-O!!!!!" - Katie Palmer, of Sobo Style is having a Pre-Country Living Fair Party on Thursday, September 23rd from 6:00pm to 8:00pm - and we're SOOOO excited.  Sue will be signing books, sharing JUNK, and there will be wine and cheese, some giveaways, and plenty of shopping to do as well!  That sounds like enough to keep us busy for the evening!  AND - I've even "finally" picked out what I'm going to wear - ha ha - you know that's always a BIG decision, right???

Well, I've got bunches to do...I'm filling my van with lots of goodies to take to the Country Living Fair and Sobo Style - we get to set up part of the Gorilla Glue tent - and it's going to be big fun (and the weather forecast is calling for almost 90 degrees...YIKES...so we'll be setting stuff up, and then melting...).

So, Columbus...here we come!

Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you there!

P.S.  I'll be at the CL Fair on Friday and Sunday.  I'm running home to attend to very important family weddings on Saturday (and will share some pics next week)...whew - I think it's time for a vacation!)

It's time for an EXTRAVAGANZA!!!

A little "flea-ological" education for today...

.Extravaganza [ik-strav-uh-gan-zuh]
any lavish or opulent show, event, assemblage, etc.

AND...We'll be there...this weekend!

The Springfield Antique & Flea Market - Extravaganza Weekend:  September 17-18-19, 2010 - check site for hours, directions...etc.  http://www.springfieldantiqueshow.com/

Terri and I will be in spaces 621 and 634 (just across from the Arts Building), and we've got LOTS of great things to sell - something for everybody - I promise!

The weather report looks simply divine for Friday and Saturday - and a slight chance of rain on Sunday) (The Weather Channel) - AND with over 2000 vendors - the crowds will definitely come...(woo hoo!!).

We're heading out on Thursday afternoon to get in line, catch up with some friends, and git-r-done!  Our trailer is packed to the top - with no room to spare - hoping it doesn't explode as we open the door...(everything from vintage redesigned jewelry to fabulous pieces of furniture).  Our friend, Ginny, is coming along too - she'll have some wonderful (and unique) antiques and primitives - and she's intending to sell it ALL!!

(It's an old pic - but this is us - in all our "Sanford & Son" glory!!

Here is a link to an old post...you can see some of our "junk"!  Springfield Extravaganza

Hope to see you there - and maybe at the Country Living Fair (and pre-fair party at Sobo Style in Columbus) next weekend too!!!

Thanks for stopping by - and have a wonderful (almost) autumn day!

A JUNKMARKET Style event in O-H-I-O!!!!!

First...I know you were expecting to see a post on my finds from our trip on the 127 - World's Longest Yard Sale (I'll be getting back to that soon...promise!).

Life has been busy, and this past weekend...our baby got engaged!

Congratulations to our beautiful daughter, Kristen and her fiance Tom - they are a wonderful couple (MFEO....a little "Sleepless in Seattle trivia) - and we're so happy for them!
(and he's good with kids too - haha!)

But...back to the reason for this post.
I'll be going to the Country Living Fair this year (for the first time),
and will be in the company of JUNKMARKET Style's founder, Sue Whitney.

Sue is scheduled to be in the Gorilla Glue booth and will be doing demonstrations each day (and I'm sure she'll be out and about doing a bit of shopping...you know how us girls are...).

AND, on Saturday, she'll be on the main stage.

The Country Living Fair is held in Columbus, Ohio on September 24th through 26th.
Click on the link for all the details.

Sue Whitney will be having a booksigning the day before (September 23rd - from 6-8pm) at one of the most unique stores in Columbus - Sobo Style, located at 3282 N. High St.

Katie Palmer, owner of Sobo Style AND our hostess for the evening, is planning a pre-Country Living Fair party, along with Sue's booksigning.  It's going to be a fun night, hanging out with Sue and checking out her newest book, "JUNK Beautiful, Outdoor Edition...

AND shopping Katie's awesome inventory of old (repurposed, renewed, etc...) and new home furnishings and gift items.   AND, of course the store is all decked out in fab fall-ish finery!!
So, we'll be saying so long to summer in a very stylish way.

Oops - almost forgot...there will also be a few giveaways throughout the night - and wine and cheese as well (our table will be set with a little JUNKMARKET Style) - what more do we need???  Well...maybe some chocolate!?!  :)

Here are some pics of what you'll see...

Aren't these "gourd-ious"???

Here and there around Columbus...

I spy some mercury glass......

Metal...it's a decorator's dream - it goes anywhere!!

Fabulous furniture with great patina...

Glass jars...at your service...

Vintage "restyled" lamps...

This crow has great taste - ya gotta love anything in silver...even pumpkins!

These guys are ready for a party...

More fall decor...

A tisket, a tasket...I love this basket!

More jars - they have a wonderful simple style - and - who knew...provide great storage too!!

Well...time to go...
I've got a few things to get ready for this little shindig...
and I'm making a little junk "sumthin" for the giveaway!

Oh...and the next question is....what the heck am I going to wear???
(I see a quick jaunt to the mall is in order...)

Hope to see lots of my blogging friends!!!

Have a beautiful, sunny "almost fall" day!!

P.S.  Terri and I will be at the Springfield Extravaganza next weekend - September 17-18-19 in spaces #621 & #634 - lots of great stuff to sell!!
