It’s that time of year again (finally)…garage and yard sales to help us stock up with lots of wonderful things for our flea market season! We’re super excited this year to be a part of the Vintage Marketplace at the Springfield Antique Show and Flea Market Extravaganza weekend! It’s the third weekend of May – the 18th-20th). Stop by the blog and you can read our profile: Vintage Marketplace
There are going to be over 2000 vendors, and over 50 will be under the tents for the Vintage Marketplace. Stop by the Vintage Marketplace blog…and check the totally unbelievable list of vendors and artists – I mean unbelievable (and it’s still growing!!). (click on the logo)
In addition, FOLK magazine will have a barn as well, with vendors and artisans and more!! From cover to cover, this is a fabulous magazine, so their barn will no doubt be a popular stop as well!
And, to top it all off…drum roll please….my friend, and Queen of JUNKMARKET Style, Sue Whitney, will be hosting the Vintage Marketplace, with presentations, a blogger AND friends party (Friday, the 18th…4:00pm), and more special happenings (to be announced SOON, so stay tuned). There will be a special JUNKMARKET Style space totally designed by Sue and friends…it will be creative junkiness in all its glory…PROMISE!
Sue will be here…with bells on…really!!!
The inaugural event was held in Nashville, and was a huge success…Springfield promises to be even bigger, with vendors/artists from the Nashville show…as well as many others (including Terri and I aka Nostalgia’s Cottage – and introducing the newest member of Nostalgia’s Cottage…our California girl…Susan Schmidt) from Ohio and across the country – this is a show not to be missed!!!! We’ve been selling at the Extravaganzas for about 9 years, and are so looking forward to a way to bring even more vendors and customers to our favorite show!!
And, FYI…
If you’re interested in being a vendor at the Vintage Marketplace…there may be a few spaces left. You can contact Jon Jenkins of Jenkins Management at jonjindpls@aol.com (the more the merrier!!!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I’ll be posting pics soon of some of the treasures we’ll be selling – it’s going to be just a BUNCH of plain ol’ amazingness!!!
NOTE: To my Ohio (and beyond…) blogging friends and readers/followers – if you’re able to come to the blogger & friends party, stop back and check for more details (and I believe there will be an event created on the Vintage Marketplace facebook page and/or the Springfield Antique Show and Flea Market facebook page (stop by and “like”), so we can get a bit of a count too) – because it’s going to be a BYOJ (bring your own junk) event, with a little competition thrown in for even more fun – oh, and of course some “junk” food too!! Would love to meet in person – that’s always the biggest fun of all, and you know we’re all friends at first sight – we’ve got so much “junk” in common, how could we not be??? And, there’s even more going on Friday nite – on the grounds – so hope you can stick around for all the fun!! (details to be announced)
JUST FOR FUN: Here’s a little something (a vintage lamp base and ceiling light fixture) I put together for a blogger party at Oronoco a few years ago…(I won second place)…so this is just a hint of what we’ll all be up to…
Well, my weekend is filled with a flea market (for shopping fun), and a day of painting furniture – wishing you happy junking trails and hope to see you at Springfield!
Hugs & blessings to you!!
Kathy
Looking forward to a junkin time!
