Sweet chalkboard, right???
Hi and happy September! I’m planning on doing a few posts over the next week and a half – keeping you up-to-date on what’s up at Extravaganza & The Vintage Marketplace (which, by the way…is less than two weeks away – September 14-16 – oh my gosh…my “to do” list is definitely not a “ta da” list yet!).
The first thing I want let you in on is a sweepstakes – $500 gift certificate – that’s right 500 big ones to spend on antiques, “junk”, or whatever your little treasure hunting heart desires at Extravaganza. Here’s the link on facebook – get over there quick and enter…
There are plans being finalized as we speak, well…as I type…for more fun and…well…more fun! I don’t know how much more fun it can get…over 2,000 vendors at Extravaganza, and an amazing array of talented vendors in the Vintage Marketplace tents – it’s a bit overwhelming – but in a GOOD way!! Wouldn’t you agree???
Terri, Susan and I are busy as bees…(even though this pic doesn’t tell “that” story…). I’ll share a few pics of projects and fab “junk” we’ve found (with more to come…)! Sorry, I don’t want to give it all up – you just gotta be there!!
We’ll be in the same spot as in the spring – just across from the Mercantile Building – spaces 573 & 586 (not sure what the official Vintage Marketplace numbers are, but will let you know as soon as I do). There should be a map available as well.
Just a few of my things…
Some junky bling!
A wonderful (previously ugly) lamp – that I painted and used Annie Sloan dark wax on – and it gave it such a fab “old world” patina…and shabbied “up” a lampshade to top it all off!
Two old child’s metal chairs…with some fun vintage nursery rhyme style…Jack & Jill!
And the fabulous 60’s luggage that we found in Michigan!!
This great old chair…waiting to be given a nice dark wax!!
Some “lovely” cowboy boots!
Alright – that’s it for the moment…(this has to be a record for one of my shortest posts EVER!!!) But, if I shared it all right now…well, I just can’t…you’ll have to keep checking back!
I know Sue Whitney (of JUNKMARKET Style) has got some big fun planned, and I believe there’s a rumor that it’s also “someone’s” birthday too…or maybe a few “someones”… Stay tuned!
Happy junking!
Kathy
P.S. (ha ha…like always!)
Here are a few projects in the “works”…
Hmmmm…a few more pieces and parts, and this old drawer will make a great jewelry display piece…really!!
Trying to figure out what to do with these…
So, here’s hoping that I get a “round TUIT” all!
(a fun wooden nickel, wouldn’t you agree??)
OK…going now!
Looking forward to seeing you once again, Kathy! It will be fun to see everything. :-)
