Well, well, it's that time again...well almost - and you've still got time to make your plans to be at TBDFMITL (The Best Darned Flea Market In The Land). (That's a little "Ohio" thing...)
Here is the WHEN and the WHERE...and the WHY...well, you know what the WHY is - no explanation needed!!
May 17, 18, 19, 2013
Clark County Fairgrounds
Springfield, Ohio
And here’s the info you need on times and admission:
The shows opens Friday morning at 7 a.m. for Early Bird Buying. The admission charge is $12 per person, but includes re-admission for all three days. General Admission begins at noon on Friday and runs through Sunday. General Admission is $7 per person daily. For the most serious customers, a special buying period on Thursday called “Line Buying” is available. On Thursday, our vendors arrive and wait in line until 5 p.m. before they are allowed to move to their spaces. In line, many vendors will open the back of their vehicles and buy and sell amongst themselves. Admission for this opportunity is $40 per person and does include re-admission for the rest of the show.
This is what we like to call a CROWD SHOT!! Woo hoo – happy faces all around!!
The Vintage Marketplace is returning again as a part of the Springfield Extravaganza, and so is our fearless leader/junker...Sue Whitney (applause...). We always have a blast when Sue's around, and throw in over 2,000 vendors on the grounds, and at least 50 vendors in The Vntage Marketplace...well, you get the idea! Junkers gone wild (maps, comfy shoes, snacks, cart, cash/checks/credit cards recommended!!) - that's all I'm saying! And, it'll be great seeing all of our fellow vendors and regular customers, AND meeting new - it just never ends (and that's a good thing!!).
Sue's busy...planning some junker fun, always with the idea of informing, entertaining and sharing her sincere love for all things junk and vintage, and reusing for a "new" function (see below…a cordless drill is repurposed…as a corkscrew…)!
or just for the sheer beauty…
Sue is planning a shop-a-long (and who doesn’t want to shop-a-long with the Queen Junker Bee???)
And…there will be Annie Sloan chalk paint demonstrations, and more...
We have sold at Springfield Extravaganza for over ten years, and it IS a fabulous show!! (Nostalgia's Cottage – in spaces 573 & 586 on the map – under one of the big white tents - and have I mentioned how much we LOVE the fact that we don’t have to set up tents anymore??? Ahhh…it’s the simple things!),
The addition of The Vintage Marketplace last year was just the icing on the cake (chocolate, please!!). Tens of thousands of customers flock (with shopping cart, wagon, large buckets (really)...or whatever in tow - in search of any little (or big) thing their heart desires...from fine antiques to primitives to mid-century modern to industrial to cottage and shabby style...to forgotten, rusted, watchamacallits!!! Something for every budget!! You'll find nothing but happy faces and the look of hope as people go "in search of"!!
A couple of our Vintage Marketplace vendors…The vintage amazingness just goes on and on…
Shambora Studios…
Rusty n’Chippy
Here are a few pics of what we’re bringing to the show…
Be proud…and flaunt your “inner junker”!!! Lots of our redesigned junk jewelry…fabulously fun!!
Terri’s cuff bracelets – a show favorite!
Susan’s reclaimed wood frames – chippy with a hint of rust!
Pieces and parts, and a dash of rust…and voila – a fun bud vase to show off what’s bloomin’!
Here’s your sign!!
Here’s what our booth looked like on Sunday last September…sold to the asphalt!
Oh, and you don't want to miss the fantastic food vendors - a HUGE selection to pick from - and you know you're going to need a little extra energy to cover lots of ground!!! One of my favorite things...the apple dumplings! :)
And, as luck would have it…we are dangerously close to the GIANT ice cream cone!!
There will even be entertainment on Saturday night...BIGG COUNTRY hits the stage for a little boot scootin' boogie!! (Yes, Sue will have her cowboy boots on (see photo below)...maybe I will too!)
And...if you want to see a little "glamping" JUNKMARKET Style...be sure to stop by the BIG vintage Airstream (courtesy of Shannon of Stash Style) - and see what Sue's been up to (scary, I know, but it's all good!!). Shannon will also be showcasing her lovely vintagey clothing line, and tons of other unique finds!! This girl travels the country (fyi...Shannon, I wanna go too!!) searching far and wide for just the right things - for you and your home!
Details, details, details...it's all in the details: Go to Sue's post at JUNKMARKET Style to see what's up - you don't want to miss a thing!! (here’s the link…)

I would really love to be there. I love some good junk shopping and this looks like the place to be. It is like a little piece of Heaven. They even have a giant ice cream cone. Thank you for sharing the pictures and hope everything goes well.
