Hi all! I know it's been a while, but if you could see my basement, it's looking like Santa's Workshop "gone wild"! It's a busy time with the holidays coming up faster than the speed of snow!!!
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving - lots of family, friends, food, and fun! We have so much to be thankful for this year - one HUGE thing is that our daughter, Kristen, became engaged in September - and we're so happy to welcome her fiance, Tom, to our family. They are two people who were truly made for each other (so "Sleepless in Seattle" - "MFEO" - ok, I've watched that movie way too many times!) They're planning on a wedding in December 2011 - so, let the planning begin!!!!
Anyway, the reason for this post is to invite any fans of vintage redesigned junk - such as jewelry (we've got over 100 pieces - each is one of a kind!), paperweights, button bouquets, collages, market bags, etc.
Here's the important information:
What: 34th Annual Ontario Community Craft Show
When: Saturday, December 4th, 2010 (yes...less than a week away!)
8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Where: Richland County Fairgrounds
750 N. Home Rd.
Mansfield, Ohio
The event is held in two buildings: the Youth Building and the Arts & Crafts Building. We'll be in the Arts & Crafts Building - space #48. There are over 100 crafters/artists with a huge selection of crafts to purchase for holiday decoration and gift giving: jewelry, floral arrangements, wreaths, glass items, baked goods, wood items, fabric crafts, quilts, soaps,AND MORE!!
Donations are taken at the door - $1.00 or toys (new or gently used) for Toy Time. This is being sponsored by the Ontario Recreation Department. There will also be food served - featuring soups, sandwiches & pies.
This is the first year that we'll be vendors for this show, and we're so excited to get our booth set up, and meet all the holiday shoppers, and sell our "junk"!
Here are pictures of "some" of the items we'll have for sale: (I apologize in advance for some of the dark pictures - I took these in the basement tonite before packing up...)
Button bouquets...
A small "village" of snow people - old bottles, and pieces and parts of anything we could find! These were a blast to make - they've all got quite unique little personalities!
Scrabble letters galore...
An old bottle gets a "new" life, and a broken piece of china is the theme.
Rag trees - made from some raggedy chenille and random fabrics...
These are adorned with buttons and old jewelry - I love these!!!
Paperweights reused...stuffed wtih buttons, jewelry, bingo chips, etc.!
A button bouquet with some bling!
Broken china necklaces...
A holiday collage...
Bracelets - with b uttons and old earrings added to give them a whole new life!
More necklaces - us girls just love this stuff, don't we??
Old watches make sweet bracelets (I saw this idea in a magazine - love it!!)
Charm bracelets - loaded with beads and other little "found" things
Terri has embellished some shirts - very cool!!!
China and other soldered pieces - so beautiful!
Well, that's just a peek - it's time to get it all packed up and ready to go... Looking forward to a great show!
Take care and have a great week.
Kathy
P.S. My next post will be about a recent trip to Charlotte, NC and our visit to a couple awesome antique malls - The Sleepy Poet and The Depot at Gibson Mill (oh my gosh fabulous!!!), and of course a fleamarket - at the Charlotte Metrolina! I've got great pics - and hope to get it posted after our show... So, stay tuned.
