“March”ing into Spring…

Hello all!  It’s a beautiful day outside…65 and sunny (in Ohio…AND in March) – it’s simply delightful!

I’ve been busy as a bee in my basement/workshop…jewelry in the works, collages, signs, and some very new (and I think very cool) creations (just a peek below…).  A lot of these items will be taken to our next show which is Artiscape, on April 15th – here’s the link:  ARTISCAPE

It’s a fabulous artists’ weekend (April 12-15, 2012) at the Embassy Suites in Dublin, Ohio (Columbus area), and the Outsider Art Fair is held on Sunday the 15th – 11am to 5pm.  There will be a number of wonderful artists/vendors selling their creations, and Terri and I (Nostalgia’s Cottage) will also have our vintage upcycled jewelry and trash to treasures for sale.  This is our third year there, and we are very excited!  (Here’s my post from last year…click on the picture below.)

And, in preparation for the Vintage Marketplace at the Springfield Extravaganza (May 18-20, 2012), Terri and I have even hit a couple sales, and we’ve found some cool metal tables, a vanity & stool, child’s hutch, and lots of fantastic “smalls”.  So, we’re working on stockpiling treasures for our customers, and are so excited to be setting up under one of the tents (in our same spaces – 573 & 586) with fellow artists/vendors/junkers from all over the country…  Here’s a list and links of who we’ve got so far…be ready to be amazed…it’s going to be “oh my gosh” fabulousness overflowing out of the tents for sure – not sure how it’s going to all be contained…!  (Some vendors don’t have links, but if that changes, I’ll add them.)

There are more applications coming in as we speak, and I’ll update the list as I find out who they are.  You can also visit my Pinterest board (yep, I put it there too – gotta love Pinterest…) – Pinterest-Vintage Marketplace – oh, I’ve got plenty of other Boards for you to take a peek at too…you know this addiction we have to Pinterest…and if you don’t…you will!!

And, if that isn’t enough, we’ll have the official “junker-in-charge” Sue Whitney of JUNKMARKET Style with us for the ENTIRE weekend.  She’s working with Jenkins Management to kick-off this “over the top” event – a show within the show.  There promises to be special events throughout the entire weekend…with something very special to be announced soon (I don’t know what it is, but Jon Jenkins, of Jenkins Management has been teasing us with news…coming soon – so I’ll share as soon as we find out!).

Here’s a link to my post on the first Vintage Marketplace-Nashville which was held in Nashville, TN in February.  It was a huge success, and promises to just keep getting better and better.

You can visit the Vintage Marketplace on facebook and at the blog:

They are interested in finding a few more vendors for this event, so if you’d like to bring your vintage style to the show and share it with the thousands of customers who visit Extravaganza, you can contact Jon Jenkins at JonJIndpls@aol.com  (tell him Kathy sent you).

I know…lots of fun in store this spring…mark your calendars and hope to see ya here and there!!

Hi ho…hi ho…it’s off to work I go…(there’s junk screaming at me from the basement – and it all wants to be worked on at the same time…focus, focus, focus!!!

Hugs, Kathy

    1. Deb - it is going to be awesome! (wish you could come too!!! We are going to meet in real life one of these days!)

And about that focusing thing...do you think it's because we've got more junk than we need (you notice I threw you into the mix - it's always good to have company when trying to rationalize, right??), and the "voices" are getting just way too loud??? Nah....it's just because it's all TOO MUCH FUN...

      Hugs to you! Kathy
