Over the next two weeks, we’ll be kicking off our show season (with TWO new shows)…and, let me tell ya, we are so excited to start 2013 off with some great junk and fabulous new redesigned creations – by myself, Susan and Terri!
This weekend, April 5th and 6th, Nostalgia’s Cottage will be one of the featured vendors/artists at the Spring Soiree in Bay Village, Ohio – The Dianne Boldman Education Gallery, 28795 Lake Road, Bay Village, Ohio 44140 - (April 5th and 6th) - . Here is the info:
We are honored to be a part of this talented group of creative ladies…Debby Martinez of Treasure and Tea (a Mansfield girl!!), Jenni Carrino of The Vintage Songbird, Shannon Vance of Stash Style, and Marcy Hoke of Shabby Shore. I think it’s all going to go together perfectly!! Stop by their Facebook page…
Here are a few pics of what we’ll be selling:
Susan’s been busy as a bee creating “new” picture frames…old wood, rusty, chippy hardware, and “ta da”….
These frames have been big sellers…so come early for the best selection!
Terri has collected some fun bling, and put it all together…and made some sweet one-of-a-kind brooches!
She’s made cuff bracelets of leather, old escutcheons, and of course a bit ‘o’ bling!
A vintage curtain pull, and the words of a song…
Come Sail Away…(Styx…oh the 70s!!)
That’s just a little preview…there’s a lot more where these came from. If you’re in the Cleveland area, try to stop in – it’s a great way to spend a spring day! We won’t actually be at the show; it is all being arranged by the talented Carrin Andress (of Chic Unique) and Erin Stack (of The Summer Market & BAYarts), but we will be stopping in on Saturday to say HI, and of course do a little shopping of our own!
On Saturday, April 13th, Susan and I (Nostalgia’s Cottage & Sylvia’s Vintage Daughter) will be participating in another wonderful show (it’s our first time) – Gathered Treasures (primitives, antiques, folk art, vintage/antique finds, handcrafted treasures and more) – and, it’s right in our own back yard…well almost... It’s held at the Richland County Fairgrounds (750 N. Home Rd.) in the Arts & Craft Building in Mansfield, Ohio, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. (Click on the pic below to stop by their blog)
We’ve been “gathering” lots of rusty, chippy, and fun antique and vintage finds, as well as putting together some of our salvaged/handcrafted creations. This is a great show in the heart of Ohio, and definitely worth the drive – another great way to spend a Saturday!!!
Here is a “bit” of what we’re bringing…
Here’s your sign…hammered spoons, Scrabble letters, and scraps of old wood…
Salvaged picture frames, photo holders, and button bokays!
Collections of “this and that!
Old sewing machine drawers enjoying their “new” life as shelves for some fun display!
On a scale of 1-10…this show is definitely a 10!! (sorry, you know me, I had to do it!!)
Crocks from Susan’s personal collection…and some other fun things too!
Rusty, chippy, and bloomin’
An old clock case (really old), has gone to the dogs…(again, really??)
I just love making button bokays – and I definitely had some fun with these, and a little birdie…under glass!
Vintage/antique junk redesigned into fun “junk” jewelry!!
Watchlets…always a timely purchase!!
A little chippy red wheelbarrow – oh my!!
A sweet little chair for Teddy, and room for friends too!
Antique samplers (from Susan’s collection), and junky signs…
I could share a lot more (you know I’m a normally in photo overload when I post…), but you’re just going to have to plan on coming to the show (or wait for the “after” post). There are going to be LOTS of vendors with LOTS of wonderful GATHERED TREASURES for you, your home, garden and enough to share with a friend too!!
Wishing you all a happy spring and a fun junking season (those garage sale signs will be popping up like dandelions pretty darned soon!).
Hugs from Ohio,
P.S. (Ha ha…I couldn’t help it…Our THIRD (yes, third) new show of the season will be the Rural Society Antique & Garden Show in the beautiful rolling hills of Knox County in Ohio (near Mt. Vernon)…click on the “chicken” below - and stop by their Facebook page.
I’ll be posting pictures as it gets closer…to tempt, I mean remind you…(and you can tell by the pic…it’s a very unique show too!!
And, after that…it’s BACK TO SPRINGFIELD EXTRAVAGANZA and THE VINTAGE MARKETPLACE – it’ll be old home week – friends to see, junk to sell!!! Did I mention how much we love this show (for selling AND shopping)???
So………………..Hi ho, hi ho, it’s off work/play I go…
Alright, better get back to painting furniture, making jewelry, painting signs, oh, and then, I’ll be on the lookout for some GARAGE SALE signs!!! A junker’s work is NEVER DONE! Woo hoo!!
