On Friday, October 14th, my girlfriends and I (see pic below…and, no, this is not what we drove) took a little drive (aka an “adventure”) to Mt. Vernon, Ohio - actually it was down a windy country road…which turned into a windy country dirt road to a sweet little valley of vintage/antique wonderfulness…better known as The Warwick Farm, and this was their semi-annual Rural Society Antique & Garden Show.
It was our first time, and we were SUPER excited to get there, which made the drive seem even longer of course (it was really only about 40 minutes – ha ha!!)!! It was a chilly morning, and it had rained the day before…but that wasn’t going to stop us! Terri assured us that she knew the way…we’re such trusting girls!!!
OK…a little further down the road…
Really, just over the hill…
That might be it…
Woo hoo – or yee haw…we made it!
What a beautiful setting…perfect for a stroll or a shopping spree…
This great old truck was a welcome sign! Perfect patina and dents in all the right places!!
Here’s our sign!!
And…the girls are off and running – hey, wait a minute I’m trying to take a picture!
Our first stop…Urban Farmhouse!
So much to see!
And, here are the girls – they were busy as bees – but they graciously stopped for a quick photo. (Thanks!!)
Alright – every girl needs a crown, right???
Mirror, mirror on the door…
I loved this little advertising piece…wondering why I didn’t buy it –it would look great in my workspace!
The stuff just keeps getting better.
Whoooooo the heck knew all this was tucked into the countryside of Knox County?? (so glad we know now!!!)
Some vintage reading…
What a view!
Rusty AND chippy – don’t ya love it?
Oh, the things I could “file” away in that cabinet…
Some heavy metal (the best kind)!
Aren’t these little stools sweet?
There were treasures everywhere!
And, velvet pumpkins – oh my!!!
What a great ottoman!
Our junking angel was watching over us (I think she probably laughs a lot – we’re pretty darned entertaining!!)
And……Ellen – ummmm…didn’t you used to have one of those??? Oh yeah – you sold it to me because you didn’t know what to do with it!!! (And, it holds all my necklaces beautifully) Now (again) you have one too! XOXO
Here’s the farmhouse – love it!
Which way should we go???
A little “pick-me-up” pic!!
Now to the big barn – surrounded with beautiful mums and vintage yumminess!!!
And inside the barn…(I don’t even need words…enjoy the view!)
Hey there – having a little too much fun??? Nah!!
Just loving all the colors of fall mixed together with all the vintage patinas and textures!!
Is this awesome, or WHAT???
Just after I took this picture, this great old lantern was SOLD!
And…on to Antebellum Farmhouse…such a beautiful display (kind of haunting – well it is the season, right??)
More of the barn…
Lots to see outside of the barn as well…
It was a jackpot of antique & vintage fabulousness!
Me and Pam of Frippery – we had fun chatting it up! Her hubby was a good sport taking pictures for us!
And, then I finally found my bestest blogging buddy (we were both wandering to and fro…) – Sue Sullivan of Sullivan & Murphy!!
OK – back to shopping….
Carrie from Junk Magnet…selling her vintage wares…
Love the girls!!
Now, under the BIG top!!
What a great idea – vintage sheet music!
Great color contrasts!
And, here’s Mugsy – the guard dog!
Columbus junkers represented…..Ellen (Caleb will love that fabulous old print)… And Ericka – yeah, I think she was having some fun too!
Garden space…
And, you know there were some chickens!!
This was just spinning peacefully in the wind…
This was the hot spot!!! (Had to stop for a few moments and warm up!)
Terri & Susan – my junking buddies!
Even more to see…
Guard dogs – taking a break!! Actually they were the welcoming committee.
Great minds…thinking junk!
These two were too stinking cute/funny – who relaxes on top of a pumpkin???
Come on Ericka…there’s MORE!!!
Things were hopping – and lots of things were being sold – it was a VERY good day!
This building was our last stop…
A view of the garden.
Aren’t these the most wonderful color??
Here a chick…there a chick…
Great old maps…
Still sitting?????? I think it’s about time for us girls to head down the road – you know there are antique shops calling our names in Mt. Vernon????
Our morning is done – and we’ve loaded up TWO vehicles with treasures (maybe we could just “borrow” the pick-up truck for a little while…)
So, good-bye Warwick Farm and thank you for a fabulous day (we’ll be back in the spring!!)
*******************************************
As we leave, I spy an awesome old deserted house – oh, how I’d love to go through and see what’s inside!! (You know you’re thinking the same thing!!!) (And, with permission, of course!!)
The rest of our day was spent antiquing in Mt. Vernon – until they started locking doors on us!! A quick coffee before we left, hugs for everyone, and we headed down the road…again. Another fun day well spent with friends!

Reminder about our FIRST trunk show:
Terri and I will be at Old World New Home this Saturday, November 5th from 5:00pm – 10:00pm. This is a fabulous store with furniture, accessories and more…with marvelous vintage style!
They are located at 941 N. High St. in Columbus, Ohio (Short North area). It’s Gallery Hop night, and we’ve been asked to be a part of it (we’re so excited!!). All the stores, restaurants, etc. are open late – and the weather is supposed to be beautiful!
We’ll be selling our redesigned vintage jewelry, along with some other creations, AND a collection of antique/vintage jewelry… Sounds like lots of bling, right??? It is!!!!
